DOVER, Del.- It's no secret that a lot of small businesses are struggling right now as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. But one local coffee shop, with the help of the community, is hoping to make the lives of essential personnel during this public health crisis a little sweeter. The House of Coffi, located on Loockerman Street in downtown Dover, has had to adapt in the wake of COVID-19. Workers now wear masks and gloves, and the shop has closed the indoor and outdoor seating areas. Baristas also make curbside deliveries. But the biggest change is that customers who are working during this pandemic are getting their coffees for free. "I know there's been a couple of people who have come in and they're like, 'Oh my gosh are you serious?' And I'm like yes! And they're like, 'Oh my gosh God bless you, you guys are amazing,'" said Anastasia Garamone, a barista at The House of Coffi. It started with one anonymous donation, and has since spread throughout the community, with multiple donations from families and even other local businesses to keep the coffee flowing. "Everybody is just supporting everybody, and I think it's bringing everybody together as a community," said Garamone. A small gesture, with a big impact. If you would like to make a donation to the House of Coffi for essential workers, you can reach out to them through
