PRINCESS ANNE, Md.- Authorities have ruled as accidental a fire that caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage to a townhouse in Princess Anne.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said it happened at around 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at a two-story brick townhouse located at 30575 Pine Knoll Drive.

It took 35 firefighters from the Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Department approximately an hour to get the fire under control.

The fire caused an estimated $20,000 in damage to the structure and another $10,000 in damage to its contents. There were no reported injuries.

Deputy state fire marshals determined the fire started due to the failure of an electrical branch circuit in a void space of a wall above the townhous.
