SALISBURY, Md. - A Salisbury man was sentenced to life for the murder of Tavin Molock back in 2017.
Raymond J. Murray, (28) will spent the rest of his life behind bars without the possibility of parole for first-degree murder.
Honorable Kathleen L. Beckstead, Chief Judge the Wicomico County Circuit Court, also sentenced Murray to concurrent sentences on related charges including armed robbery and conspiracy.
Murray was convicted by a Wicomico County jury on April 25 on a total of 22 counts related to the murder of Molock. Murray’s convictions stem from a July 30, 2017, robbery of 32-year-old Molock of Salisbury, Md., as he was walking in the area of Bethel and Roger St.
According to police, Murray and other individuals assaulted and robbed Molock. Molock died as a result of the wounds that he sustained during the robbery.
Wicomico County Ad Interim State’s Attorney Jamie L. Dykes commended the members of the Salisbury City Police Department Road Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division, and the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit for their work in the investigation. She specifically thanked Detective Foy, SPD, and Sergeant Clark, MSP, the lead investigators. SA Dykes also thanked Kristen Schultz, Senior Assistant State’s Attorney (Sr. ASA). Sr. ASA Schultz
prosecuted the case along with SA Dykes.
SA Dykes said, “Judge Beckstead’s sentence recognizes this brutal and senseless killing by a mob of violent criminals bent on executing their own sentence on Mr. Molock.”
