Updated: State Police Investigating Serious Crash in Lewes

EASTON, Md. - Easton Police say a teen is facing charges after they tried to rob a Royal Farms for electronic cigarettes.

According to police, the 16-year-old  teen walked into the Royal Farms in Easton Friday night and started grabbing JUUL electronic cigarettes. The employee behind the counter grabbed the suspect and put him in a headlock until officers arrived, police say.

Easton PD say the employee, 42-year-old Lawanda Roberts, was hit in the face when the teen tried to flee from her. She was seen by paramedics but refused to go to the hospital for a jaw injury. 

The juvenile was referred to the Department of Juvenile Justice for Robbery for assault, theft and marijuana charges, since they had some in their possession at the time. The teen was later released to their guardian.
