OCEAN CITY, Md.- Skate while you can because the Ocean Bowl Skate Park in Ocean City will soon temporarily close ahead of renovation work.

OC Recreation and Parks say the park, between 3rd and 4th Streets bayside, will close on Sunday, November 12th, as part of the skate park expansion project. It is expected to reopen in the Summer of 2024.

The new Downtown Recreation Complex will feature a grassed open space, a new playground, two basketball courts, and shared-use asphalt tennis and pickleball courts.

A new addition to the Ocean Bowl Skate Park will offer street skate opportunities to augment the existing pool bowl, vert ramp, mini ramp, and concrete street area.

Chicago Avenue’s Victorian-themed “Bayside Boardwalk” area will stay a location for fishing and crabbing.
