SALISBURY, Md.- The city of Salisbury is taking steps towards transforming North Prong Park in Salisbury. It sits along Lake Street off of route 50. During it's council meeting Monday night, the city continued the process of buying pieces of land that has not changed in over 40 years.
Council President President Jackson, and councilmember representing one says she really likes the idea of district one getting some much needed attention from the city.
"I am elated. I am so glad to see this coming our prior council started this and I wanna see it through," said Jackson. "It's getting ready to become something very beautiful I mean it's been a process and that place has been there for like 40 50 years like it is."
Jackson said she is hoping to host public hearings to learn what people in district one would like to see out of the park.
Moves to acquire the land move to a second reading during the city council's next public hearing which is on October 30th.
