MILTON, DE - The Delaware State Police say a suspect was shot and killed by officers on Thursday after allegedly charging towards troopers with a knife during a traffic stop in Sussex County.
The Delaware State Police say on Thursday, a trooper stopped a suspected impaired driver who failed to stop, and pulled into a driveway in the area of the 28000 block of West Springside Drive in Milton.
According to DSP, the driver obtained a knife and charged towards officers. Two of the troopers "discharged their firearms, striking the suspect."
First aid was rendered to the suspect, but they were pronounced dead at the scene.
DSP say the scene remains under investigation and active. The public is being asked to avoid the area at this time.
