WORCESTER COUNTY, MD– The County Health Department is seeking applicants for community tobacco control project funding.
This comes after the County received cigarette restitution funds from the State of Maryland, according to a press release.
Eligible organizations can request up to $2,000 for community-based activities which spread awareness for smoking prevention, including retailer and consumer education, tobacco cessation referrals and other health-promoting events.
Non-profits, churches, private entities, community groups and workplaces serving Worcester County are all welcome to apply by 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 4.
Officials say a pre-proposal orientation meeting will take place at 2 p.m. July 10 via Google Meet. Those interested in attending should contact Crystal Bell at crystal.bell1@maryland.gov to RSVP.
A digital application packet is available online.
Projects will be awarded after Aug. 25, according to a press release. Any questions can be directed to Worcester County Health Department Prevention Services at 410-632-110 ext. 1108.
