Delaware's Democratic leaders are calling for a halt to a proposed electric rate increase, sending a letter to the Public Service Commission urging regulators to reject Delmarva Power's latest proposal. However, across the aisle, Republicans say those same Democrats should shoulder the blame for the situation.

Dover neighbors may soon feel a jolt in their electric bills under the city's proposed 2026 fiscal year budget.

Maryland's Freedom Caucus launched a "Lower Electric Bills Now" energy platform Thursday, targeting rising electric bill rates across the state. Neighbors across Maryland are also continuing to fight back against the rising rates. 

The Seaford City Council voted 4-1 during a Jan. 9th meeting to increase electric rates to offset wholesale power supply cost increases and other costs.
