Sunny skies and warm temperatures brought out families to the beaches of Ocean City on Tuesday, but red flags lined the shore as officials kept swimmers out of the water. Hurricane Erin, located off the Atlantic coast, has created dangerous rip currents along the region, prompting beach closures and safety restrictions.

The heavy rain, strong winds and higher than normal tides have caused major flooding down the coast. Many areas in Sussex county are under water and it is expected to get worse as the night moves on into Saturday morning. Parts of Millsboro, closer to the Indian River, are completely submerged.
