Ocean City Council Secretary Tony DeLuca has resigned amid ongoing debate over his eligibility to remain in office after some claimed he did not meet the town’s residency and domicile requirements.
A proposal that would require some Ocean City rental properties to post a front yard sign with a QR code linking to the town’s rental website failed to advance after a lengthy work session, as members of the public warned the idea could create safety issues and spur more complaints.
Ocean City councilmembers on Wednesday delayed a decision on whether Council Secretary Tony DeLuca is eligible to remain in office after a former council candidate asked the town to declare his seat vacant under the town charter.
