Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger is advancing significant constitutional amendment proposals including enshrining same-sex marriage, the right to reproductive freedom, automatic voting right restoration for time-served felons, and redistricting in the Commonwealth, should voters approve them.
Voters made history in electing the Commonwealth's first female governor and the first Muslim woman in the nation to serve as lieutenant governor.
Voters across the Commonwealth cast ballots Tuesday for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general, along with all 100 seats in the House of Delegates and select local contests. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and anyone in line by 7 p.m. may vote, according to the Virginia Department of Elections.
