The upper-level low has parked itself over parts of the Ohio River valley this morning and we have this steady stream of moisture that continues to funnel in from the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean. This will keep things gray for much of the day with on and off rain showers and a few thunderstorms are possible throughout the day. It will not be a total washout, but you should have rain gear with you as you are out and about to start the work week. Temperatures today only reach the 60s and low 70s for highs with the gray sky and the wind in off the Atlantic for much of the day.
We get into a pocket of drier air as we work into Tuesday and Wednesday which will bring us some opportunities for some sunshine to break out from time to time. The only issue with this is when you get sunshine to break out with such an inherently unstable atmosphere….you are going to pop more showers and storms and that is what we could see on Tuesday. Wednesday will have the upper-level low traveling over the top of the area with some lingering showers to start the day before things will improve into the afternoon.
Thursday will bring another cold front and the chance of a few late afternoon and evening showers and storms on a very warm day with highs into the 70s and 80s again. We could see some lingering showers on Friday morning before things start to improve as high pressure takes control of our forecast in time for all the Mom’s on Sunday!
