FORECAST DISCUSSION
Normal high: 86°F. Normal low: 65°F.
After a couple days of active weather, high pressure will bring us a break - at least for a couple days.
With high pressure in charge, Wednesday night will be pleasant, with mainly clear skies allowing temperatures to fall to the low 60s.
Thursday will be a typical late-June summer day, with lots of sunshine and highs in the mid 80s. Highs will reach the low 80s at the coast with a generally light south to southwesterly breeze.
Friday and Saturday will be hot, with highs within a degree or three of 90°F. A cold front to our north will likely not make it far enough south to cross Delmarva, but some disturbances along that front will bring chances for mainly afternoon and evening thunderstorms. As of Wednesday evening, severe storms are not expected, but be prepared for gusty downpours and frequent lightning in any storms that do develop.
Conditions settle down a little bit for Sunday, which will likely be the better day of the weekend, with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 80s.
Then the beginning of next week is shaping up to be quiet, but summer-like, with lots of sunshine and afternoon highs in the mid 80s to low 90s.
In the long range, temperatures are expected to be above normal, and precipitation above normal for Jul 1 - Jul 7.
In the Tropics: There are no areas of development interest at this time.
