Tuesday looks like a treat of a day with sunshine and temperatures into the 80s and 90s…your typical summer afternoon for mid August. There may even be a touch of relief to the humidity with the wind from the north and northeast on Tuesday…beaches could be in the 70s all day long. With the sea breeze coming inland, we could…and I want to stress could see a pop up shower or storm later in the afternoon today. The best chance of this shower or storm impacting someone will be from route 113 and points east. The sea breeze could move farther west and could bring the line to route 13. Something we might need to watch for later today.

Wednesday will be in the 80s and 90s again with a mix of sun and clouds as high pressure sneaks into control of the forecast. The wind will be switching all day long with the wind starting out of the east and southeast and then it will keep turning back toward the southwest by the end of the day. This will allow for the even higher humidity to return back into the region and helps to fuel our storm chances into Thursday.

Watching a cold front to push through the region on Thursday with some scattered showers and storms by later in the day. The thing about this front (and has been the pattern for the last few weeks) is that this front will become our best friend and stall out overhead. The front will allow for an area of low pressure to develop on the front and drift through our neck of the woods and keep things unsettled with rain on and off throughout the day on Friday and looks to linger into a good chunk of Saturday (at the moment).

I am trying to be optimistic for the beach businesses and to dry us out for late Saturday and Sunday. At the moment, we can’t rule out a couple showers and storms on Sunday. As of right now, Sunday looks to be the better of the two weekend days as the storm chance doesn’t look as large as it will be on Saturday. A touch less humidity arrives for early next week behind the front as things look to settle down a bit for Monday and Tuesday. Another slow moving system could bring more rain and storms into the region for Wednesday and Thursday of next week.
