Welcome to the weekend!
While we are expecting a little bit of unsettled weather for the first have of the weekend, at this point we're not expecting a washout.
As the storm system passes well to our north, it will swing a cold front across the Mid-Atlantic on Saturday, bringing our next round of rain. Scattered showers could start as early as Friday night, continuing throughout the day on Saturday. There will likely be two main rounds of rain and thunder, one in the morning, and another in the afternoon and evening. Saturday is not expected to be a washout, though most of Delmarva will see rain at some point during the day. As for thunderstorms, convective potential seems to be low, so severe thunderstorms are not expected, but should a storm become severe, damaging wind gusts will be the main threat.
High pressure builds back in for Sunday, with cooler temperatures that will rise back into the 70s by Monday and Tuesday under mostly sunny skies.
Longer-range guidance is suggesting an unsettled second half of next week, with scattered showers and thunder late Wednesday through next weekend.
In the long range, temperatures are expected to average above normal, and precipitation above normal for May 2 - May 8.
