Westover Fire

WESTOVER, MD - The Office of the Maryland Fire Marshal is investigating a massive Somerset County fire this morning that caused an estimated structural loss of $100,000 and a content loss of $50,000.

The Fire Marshal says the fire erupted at a Westover home on Upper Hill Road just before 10:30 a.m. Monday morning, October 16th. 20 firefighters from the Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Company reportedly took 2 hours to control the flames.

According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, the preliminary cause is thought to be an accidental electrical failure at the fuse box on the front porch/sunroom. The occupants of the home have been displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross, the Fire Marshal says.
