SALISBURY, Md. - The heat index in Salisbury topped 100 degrees. And people like Ray Perdue could feel it today.
"Yeah it's brutally hot I take a walk everyday at lunch time and it is not enjoyable at all right now," said Perdue .
So much so, he almost skipped it today.
"Yeah I didn't want to but I still made myself come out even though it's like ninety five degrees out or something," said Perdue.
Turns out, a lot of people stayed in. At least that's what Donna Haag thinks.
"I was just thinking I was just gonna say to her, 'doesn't it seem like it's really dead today?' well it must be because its too hot out nobody even wants to be outside there's usually people walking around I think we've seen four people," said Haag.
It was so hot, Hagg got her ice cream in a cup.
"It's an ice cream-hot day in a cup not a cone... it would melt," said Haag.
But if you're thinking about going out, Hagg says to stay inside.
"Oh no... don't do it Stay in the building walk around your building where it's much cooler it's hot hot hot."
Unless you have to walk to work like Cassie Dyson. She says the humidity does not help.
"No it doesn't especially when you gotta walk across over to get over here to go to work... ugh it's crazy."
This latest heat wave is expected to end by Sunday.
