GEORGETOWN, Del.- An unexpected request was made on Monday by Eric Bodenweiser's lawyers to arrest his accuser and charge him with perjury.
The trial of the former state senator candidate - who was accused of molesting a young boy between 1987 and 1989 - ended two weeks ago with a hung jury.
Joe Hurley, one of Bodenweiser's attorneys, claims the accuser lied on the stand. Hurley wrote a letter to the Delaware Attorney General's office and asked to have the accuser arrested and charged with perjury. The next court meeting is set for July 18 in Georgetown to determine the state's next move.
