SALISBURY, Md. - The Wicomico County Fair is back on- rain or shine. But this year there is something new. A vaccine clinic. Sarah Lowes already got her shot and hoping others get theirs.
"Think of your grandparents, think of your kids, this isn't about you this is about everyone around you and if you don't take the steps necessary to do what you need to do to protect people around you, that's just a selfish act," said Lowes.
One couple we spoke with said they are waiting to get the vaccine until they see more information about the vaccine. Mackenzie Hicks is a respiratory nurse and said she thinks the vaccine works.
"From what we've seen a lot of the people who are very sick this time around, are the unvaccinated population," said Hicks.
For those who refuse the vaccine, Wicomico County Fair Chair Zach Evans says the fair is doing their best to keep everyone safe.
"There will be masks available for attendees who maybe forgot theirs and wanna wear them, we are encouraging anyone who is not vaccinated to wear masks we'll have hand sanitizer available and you'll see a lot of signage encouraging people to socially distance ," said Evans.
The vaccine clinic will be open at the fair during the hours below:
Friday 4 pm to 8 pm
Saturday 10 am to 8 pm
Sunday 12 noon to 6 pm
