Maryland and Delaware- Delmarva Power customers can save money and energy Thursday by reducing their electric use between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
As Delmarva gets hotter and hotter this week the demand for electricity grows. Thursday is expected to be in high demand day for electricity, according to Delmarva Power, so customers are offered an incentive opportunity to earn bill credits.
The Peak Energy Savings Credit Program does not require enrollment from customers, just participation. Delmarva Power says simply saving energy during the afternoon hours on Thursday will qualify any customers.
Participants in Peak Savings Day will be granted a bill credit of $1.25 for ever kilowatt hour of reduced energy use below their individual average. Delmarva Power explains credit can be viewed on Friday in "My Account" or on their next bill.
Delmarva Power's Energy Wise Rewards program customers will cycle their air conditioners during this period, meaning their air conditioner compressors will be on selected time intervals throughout the day.
