SALISBURY, Md.- A space that has sat vacant at the Centre at Salisbury mall for more than a year and a half could be getting a new tenant.
The home decor store HomeGoods wants to move into the former JCPenney.
According to a Salisbury-Wicomico Department of Planning and Zoning staff report provided to WBOC, HomeGoods' plan is to take up the 21,665-square-feet that used to include the JCPenney hair salon and sales area. The floor space of the entire store measures 82,666-square-feet.
The store would not be accessible from the interior of the mall, just from a separate entrance.
The planning commission will discuss the details of HomeGoods' plan as part of its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Government Office Building in Salisbury.
