Milford, Del.- A possible tornado passed through the Milford area late Thursday afternoon.
Chief Meteorologist Paul Williams says the tornado warning was issued around 5:00, but tornadic activity was detected on the radar about 4:50. A second tornado warning was issued around 5:10 as well.
The storm appeared to cut a strong path through the Milford and Slaughter Beach areas before it moved out to the Delaware Bay.
Viewer video appeared to show a funnel cloud touching down east of Milford.
One farm off Mills Road suffered significant damage, including a destroyed barn, flipped trailers, and roofs were partially taken off. Owner Michelle Mills and her neighbors say they saw what looked like two tornadoes pass through the field by their homes.
"My nephew has a stocker hauler and it was actually hovering in the air," Mills says. "It was like off the ground hovering and then I heard a big bang and then I ran to the bathroom, got my dogs together and that's where we stayed."
Mills says no one was hurt and that her neighbors helped load up her horses and cows, which kept them all safe.
The storm also knocked down lots of trees in the Milford area. Tree services quickly responded to cut up the fallen trees and move them away from homes and off of roadways.
