SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury University Class of 2025 has moved into their dorms. Freshman Emma Vaneck says she's just grateful to be here.
"We're at least in person at least we can be here and not from home so it's better than nothing," said Vaneck.
Vaneck believes it's because of the rules and planning.
"I think they did a pretty good job over the summer or over the last school year I've heard and they're doing a lot taking precautions so I'm not really worried about it," said Vaneck.
Dominic Drinan was virtual last year and is excited for in-person classes.
"At least we're moving onto campus and in-person classes I cant really argue... I spent my whole senior year doing virtual so it's definitely good to be in person," said Drinan.
All SU students and staff must be vaccinated and wear masks when indoors. Jorja Cooper says she got her vaccine because of the mandate.
"I feel like everyone was hesitant at some point so yeah I was a little hesitant but yeah I'm kind of happy with my decision now," said Cooper.
Ultimately, Drinan says he's here to follow the rules.
"I mean obviously I'm not in much of a position to argue, I'm moving in and that's SU's rules so hopefully sooner rather than later we can get over this whole thing," said Drinan.
It's these rules that make students like Vaneck feel safe.
"As long as they have the masks and they're vaccinated I'm okay with that."
Joe Benyish is the Interim Director of Orientation and says he's thankful for the rules so that students can be on campus.
"I think SU has done a really good job of giving us pentameters to follow, I know it's going to be an interesting time but I think most of all people are happy to be back to some sense of normalcy," said Benyish.
SU officials say that 97% of their students are vaccinated. Those who are not will submit to regular testing twice a week.
