Bennett Middle School

FRUITLAND, MD - The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office has reported a 14-year-old student assaulted another student with scissors Friday at Bennett Middle School.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the alleged assault occurred on Friday, November 10th. The victim was reportedly taken by EMS for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say The Bennett Middle School Resource Officer quickly detained the 14-year-old suspect and there is no threat to the school community.

The Sheriff’s Office says they will request the following charges against the student, whose name will not be released due to her age:

-Assault 1st degree

-Assault 2nd degree

-Reckless Endangerment

-Disturb School Operations

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing and ask anyone with information to contact them.
