PRESTON, MD.- A baby was taken to the hospital after a car crashed into a home in Preston on Sunday morning.

The Preston Volunteer Fire Company and Maryland State Police tell WBOC that 19-year-old Christopher Fisher, of Hurlock, lost control of his vehicle, crossing into the opposite lane of traffic, and hit a home on the 200 block of Main Street around 9:30 a.m.

A four-month-old baby inside the home was hit. The child was flown as a precaution to Johns Hopkins Hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Officials tell us that the baby has since been released from the hospital.

The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the investigation. Once their investigation is complete, they will submit their findings to the Caroline County State’s Attorney’s Office, who will decide whether charges will be filed in this case.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
