Record Longfin Albacore

Berlin angler Marc Spagnola reeled in a 20-year record-breaking longfin albacore at 78 pounds Sept. 21.

OCEAN CITY, MD– Maryland's Department of Natural Resources says a longfin albacore caught off Worcester County's coast set a new state record.

Marc Spagnola, of Berlin, reeled in the 78-pounder aboard the Instigator on Sept. 21 before weighing it on a certified scale at Sunset Marina.

The catch broke a 21-year Atlantic Division record set at 74 pounds in 2004, according to DNR.
