GEORGETOWN, Del. WBOC's Job Fair is free event that will be held Saturday at Delaware Technical Community College in Georgetown. And while potential employees will have plenty of opportunities to land a new career, employers are hoping for a great turnout so they have plenty of local talent to choose from.
There will be more than 55 employers on hand from across Delmarva covering everything from HVAC, to welding, to sales, and public safety. One of the employers that will be in Georgetown is Delaware Elevator. Jill Williams, who is the human resources coordinator for the company, is looking forward to having so many potential new hires so easily accessible.
"So, we want to gain access to a large number of candidates. From a recruitment standpoint, it is our chance to have that face-to-face interaction with candidates interested in our company," Williams said.
Along with Delaware Elevator, the Town of Ocean City will be at the job fair, looking to fill a hand full of full-time positions along with getting a jump start on the 500 seasonal positions. And Coastal Comfort will be there with it own list of full-time needs for the Salisbury-based company. In order to fill all those positions, the employers attending the job fair know that one key ingredient needs to be in Georgetown on Saturday, a large crowd of eager job seekers.
"The power is in the numbers," said Emily Riebert, the installation coordinator for Coastal Comfort. "So, the more people there, the better chances we have at finding potential employees and it also gives us a chance to sit down and talk to people and find people interested in starting their career with HVAC."
There will be plenty of careers available Saturday, so don't forget your resume. The job fair runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Del Tech's campus in Georgetown.
