HENDERSON, MD - The Office of the State Fire Marshal in Maryland is investigating a fire on New Year’s Day that took the life of a family pet.
According to the Fire Marshal, firefighters were dispatched to River Bridge Road in Henderson just after 6 a.m. on January 1st after a neighbor noticed the fire. There, it took 50 firefighters from the Goldsboro Volunteer Fire Company about an hour to extinguish the flames in the one story home
No people were home at the time of the fire, according to the Fire Marshal, but one dog was unfortunately killed. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and total losses are estimated at $200,000. Anyone with information on the fire is asked to call the Fire Marshal at 410-822-7609.
