Chincoteague Mare Passes Despite Lifesaving Efforts by Volunteers and Vets, Foal Safe
According to the Fire Company, the stewards of the wild Chincoteague ponies, volunteers discovered a downed mare in the marsh of the South End of Assateague Island unable to stand on her own around 7 a.m. Wednesday.
