UPDATE: Hartly Shooting Suspect Arrested

HARTLY, DE - Delaware State Police arrested a suspect in a shooting that occurred in Hartly on Monday night.

According to Delaware State Police, on Monday, March 31, at approximately 11:19 p.m., troopers responded to Sherwood Forest Way in Hartly for the report of a shooting. When troopers arrived at the location, they learned that a 35-year-old man had been shot and taken to the local fire company. He was then taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. 

An investigation revealed that the victim was visiting a woman at the Hartly home when the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Myreon Lindsey of Stevensville, Maryland, forcefully entered the home. According to DSP, the woman knew Lindsey. The suspect and the victim reportedly got into a physical and verbal altercation, before he shot the victim. 

State police say on April 4, Lindsey was arrested in Caroline County, Maryland. Upon extradition to Delaware, he’ll be charged with the following crimes:

  • Attempted Murder 1st Degree (Felony)
  • Assault 1st Degree (Felony)
  • Home Invasion Burglary 1st Degree (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
