DELMARVA– Delmarva Power says it will remain on standby to address potential power outages amid a severe storm system forecasted for March 16.
“Should an outage occur, our priority is restoring service safely and as quickly as possible, and we encourage customers to make their own preparations now and have a plan in place,” the company said in a press release.
Delmarva Power says the Emergency Medical Equipment Notification Program is available for customers relying on electric-powered life-support, with additional emergency alerts options available for all customers.
Those utilizing generators should review the manufacturer's instructions ahead of time, according to Delmarva Power, and all households are encouraged to establish a backup location to shelter at.
Officials sat other at-home preparations should include gathering supplies like bottled water, non-perishable foods, batteries and flashlights. FEMA offers a full list of recommended items here.
