Delaware Turkey Season Set to Open on April 11th

DELAWARE– Delaware’s Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control is asking for the public’s help in its annual Wild Turkey Survey.

The survey uses day-to-day observations to track annual changes in Delaware’s wild turkey population.

Participants are asked to enter information into a data sheet and identify the Wildlife Management Zone where each encounter occurred.

Completed forms should be submitted by Sept. 10 by email to Gary.Macy@Delaware.gov or by mail to the following address:

Turkey Observation Survey, DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife, 6180 Hay Point Landing Road, Smyrna, Delaware, 19977

For more information, visit www.dnrec.delaware.gov or contact a state wildlife biologist at 302-735-3600.
