DOVER, Del. - The Dover Police Department say they are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred on the evening of July 29.
They say officers responded to the 200 block of Pebble Valley Drive in Dover around 6:30 p.m. for reported shots fired. Officers say they found damage to a home there that was consistent with gunfire.
The investigation further revealed that multiple rounds were fired from an area around a nearby retention pond. One round traveled through the front window of the home and passed through the home's interior before lodging in a rear wall. Police say another round was also discovered inside the home. Multiple shell casings were found near the retention pond.
A 40-year-old man was present in the home at the time, though he was uninjured. Detectives say they do not believe the resident or home was targeted intentionally and continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information or surveillance footage of the area from the time of the incident is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7111.
