DOVER, DE - Multiple fire departments battled a commercial fire on South Little Creek Road early Thursday morning.

According to the Dover Fire Department, they, Little Creek, and Camden-Wyoming Fire companies responded to a strip mall fire outside of Dover just after 4 a.m. this morning. St Francis and Kent County EMS crews were also dispatched to the strip mall. There, they discovered the fire showing from the rear of the one-story building.

The Dover Fire Department says firefighters quickly forced their way into the building and used a 2-½ inch hand line to extinguish the flames. A search of the building reportedly revealed the fire had been contained to the store it began in.

Fire and EMS crews were on the scene of the fire for about 2 hours. The Dover Fire Department says the investigation has been turned over to the City Fire Marshals Office. The fire’s cause has not yet been released.
