FARMINGTON, Del. - Troopers say a 33-year-old Milton woman was killed in the crash.
According to Delaware State Police, on Nov. 2 around 6:47 p.m., an unknown vehicle was traveling northbound on South Dupont Highway, south of Main Street, when it struck a woman standing in the middle of the lane. Troopers say the vehicle did not stop and the driver fled the scene.
Authorities say the woman died at the scene. Her name is being withheld until her family is notified.
The northbound lanes of South Dupont Highway were closed for approximately four hours while the scene was investigated, and the roadway was cleared.
The Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this incident. Troopers are asking anyone who witnessed this collision to please contact Cpl/3 J.
