QUEEN ANNE, MD - The Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Queen Anne’s County that left one woman dead this morning. 

Police say they arrived on Queen Anne Highway (Route 404) and Starr Road in Queen Anne just before 9 a.m. Thursday morning. There, they found a Ford Edge had reportedly failed to slow down before hitting a tractor-trailer that was stopped at a red traffic light. 

The driver of the Ford Edge died at the scene. She has been identified as Jayme Lynn Karrip, of Dundalk, MD.

Authorities closed Route 404 for about 2 hours as they investigated and cleared the scene. 

Police say the crash remains under investigation.
