Eden House Fire

EDEN, MD - The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire that destroyed an abandoned house in Eden on Tuesday.

According to officials, a 911 call on April 15 at about 2:10 p.m. alerted them to the fire on McGrath Road. First responders arrived to find the building engulfed in flames and almost fully collapsed.

Numerous fire companies from Worcester, Wicomico, and Somerset Counties were on the scene for several hours to control the flames.

The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office says they learned the building was over 100 years old and was in significant disrepair. No one had lived in it for years, according to investigators.

Officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation and ask anyone with information to contact them at 410-632-5666.
