GEORGETOWN, DE - The Delaware State Police arrested a Sussex County woman for reckless endangering after driving towards a Correctional Officer on Friday.
On Friday, May 2nd, at approximately 8:45am, the Delaware State Police responded to Reynolds Pond Road in Ellendale, Delaware for a report of reckless endangering.
Upon arriving at the scene, troopers learned that a woman, driving a black Pontiac G6, drove toward a Correctional Officer while he was supervising a Department of Correction work crew from the Sussex Community Corrections Center on the 20000 block of Reynolds Pond Road.
DSP says troopers learned the suspect had been told to leave the area by the officer after she was seen talking to the SCCC offenders while they were working. The suspect then left the area, but returned shortly after, argued with the officer, and then drove her vehicle toward the officer. According to state police, the car nearly hit the officer.
The suspect then fled the area. Through an investigation, DSP identified the suspect as 26-year-old Inessa Bagwell of Georgetown. A warrant was obtained for Bagwell's arrest.
On May 5th, Bagwell was arrested and charged with the following.
- Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (Felony)
- Disorderly Conduct when Refusing to Disperse
She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and released on her own recognizance.
