DOVER, Del.- Silver Lake Park in Dover is closed to the public after a wastewater main broke at the park early Thursday afternoon.
The city said that shortly after 1 p.m. it received notification that the Kent County Wastewater Force Main broke in the park.
Due to this break and associated sanitary sewer overflow, the park has been closed until further notice. County crews responded to the site to repair the damage. The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control hazmat team was also on the scene.
The city is asking members of the public to stay out of Silver Lake Park until it is reopened.
