GEORGETOWN, Del.- Sussex County's biggest resource center for the Hispanic community is now under new leadership.
La Esperanza in Georgetown recently named Dr. Jennifer Fuqua as its executive director. She replaces Rosalia Velazquez, who stepped down last year.
Fuqua previously worked for the University of Delaware where she conducted research about the Hispanic community in Sussex County specifically. She says she's looking forward to leading La Esperanza's team.
"We have great staff that's continuing with us, that people trusts. So building that trust and continuing that trust is very important to me," says Fuqua.
Fuqua says her main goal at the moment is to expand the services the center offers in Sussex County.
