MILLSBORO, Del.- A 19-year-old man was arrested after attempting to break into a home in Millsboro.
According to Delaware State Police, Dwayne A. Barnes allegedly attempted to break into a 21-year-old woman's home in Rehoboth Shores by kicking in the rear door. When a Rehoboth Shores security officer arrived at the home in the 34000 block of Tugboat Court, he was reportedly threatened by Barnes with a BB gun.
Barnes fled before troopers arrived, but he was found by Probation and Parole hiding in a pond off of Tugboat Court. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Barnes was charged with attempt to commit burglary second degree, terroristic threatening, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on $12,200 unsecured bond.
Troopers were dispatched to the 34000 block of Tugboat Court in the Rehoboth Shores development around 7:15 p.m. Monday.
