SEAFORD, Del.- Hundreds gathered this Sunday in Seaford to celebrate "Dia del niño".
"It's a Mexican tradition we're glad to celebrate here on Delmarva," says Jazmin Buke, owner of La ZMX Radio, one of the organizers. "This is the first time we celebrated an event like this one here in Seaford, but we've organized plenty in New Castle County".
The celebration was packed with fun for kids of all ages, music, games and prizes. The event started at noon and continued through the afternoon.
"We had a mechanical bull, live music and the traditional Chinelos from Morelos, Mexico," says Buke. "It was very heartwarming to see people from all nationalities come together and enjoy an afternoon of fun and games."
The "Dia del niño" or Children's Day is celebrated on April 30 every year in Mexico.
