Pedestrian Crash Pocomoke

POCOMOKE, Md. - The Worcester County Sheriff's Office has identified a woman killed in a pedestrian crash in Pocomoke earlier this week.

According to the Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Company, first responders were called to Ocean Highway at about 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12 on reports of a crash. Authorities say a pedestrian was struck and bystanders began life-saving measures until EMS arrived. Despite the efforts of both the bystanders and EMS, the woman died at the scene.

On Thursday, the Worcester County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Sandra Mattingly, of Pocomoke. 

Police say the driver of the car involved in the crash remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. There is currently no indication of impairment or any traffic violations, according to investigators. 

Anyone with additional information on the crash is asked to contact either the Pocomoke Police Department or the Worcester County Sheriff's Office.
