SALISBURY, Md.- Wicomico County’s Community Outreach Addiction Team is launching a new peer support group in Spanish to help those struggling with addiction.
Brian Perez, of member of the team, is leading this new initiative and hopes to help the Spanish-speaking community. Perez noticed this is a common issue in the community and that there aren’t many resources available for those who do not speak English.
“Addiction does not discriminate any race, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status or language, and it came to my attention that there are not self-help group for the Spanish speaking in our Hispanic communitiesm” says Perez.
The meetings will take place at Salisbury's Recovery Resource Center. Those interested in this service can contact Brian Perez via email ayudarsalisbury@gmail.com. Meetings will be free and open to everyone.
