Man Arrested for Robbing Hebron Savings Bank in Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md.- Salisbury police have arrested a 41-year-old man accused of robbing the Hebron Savings Bank on Riverside Drive late last month.

Michael Christopher Baumann, of Salisbury, is charged with armed robbery, robbery, assault and theft, in connection with the Jan. 31 incident.

Police said that it happened shortly before 3:30 p.m., when Baumann entered the bank and displayed a note while demanding money from the bank employees. 

According to police, Baumann implied he had a weapon and bank employees gave him an undisclosed amount of cash. Baumann then ran out of the bank with the money, police said. 

Department K-9 “Hank” conducted a track for the suspect, but the track was unsuccessful in locating him. There were no injuries reported during the incident.

Upon review of the bank CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses, detectives identified Baumann as the suspect who robbed the bank.

During the early evening hours on Friday, Jan. 31, an arrest warrant was issued for Baumann, charging him with the bank robbery.

On Feb. 13, members of the Capitol Area Regional Task Force located and arrested Baumann in Dover, Del. Baumann was served with the arrest warrant and ultimately transported back to the Wicomico County Detention Center where he is being held without bond on the aforementioned charges.
