LEWES, Del. - The Lewes Police Department has reported that the eponymous cannonball missing from the Lewes Cannonball House has been located.
Police say the lost artifact was found early this morning on the sidewalk in front of Zwaanendael Museum and returned to the police. The Historical Society has positively identified the iconic cannonball.
A formal ceremony for the cannonball return will be held in front of the Cannonball House today at 11:30 a.m.
