OCEAN CITY, Md. -- Tropical Storm Ophelia hit Ocean City early Saturday morning, leaving a path of flooding and property damage.

Brian Santiago woke up devastated, as the storm's winds blew off a section of the roofing over his apartment at the Sand Penny Condominiums on 128th St.

"I was laying in bed and I heard it, and all of a sudden, I had a waterfall coming in my place," says Santiago.

Santiago's apartment was drenched with rainwater. He spent the day cleaning up debris surrounding the complex.

"You could hear this loud creaking then all of a sudden, whatever it was, cut loose," says Santiago. "I thought one of the air conditioning units came off."

Crashing waves and sand piled along the boardwalk were also proof of the storm's power. Despite this, many visitors still made the best out of a bad situation.

"I know Ocean City is always prepared for these types of storms and as long as they were still letting us arrive, we were still happy to come," says Cheryl Lewis.
