Preston Fire Company Struggling With Low Hydrant Pressure In Town

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Ocean City Department of Public Works announced it will conduct bi-annual fall fire hydrant flushing of the town’s water systems next week.

Beginning Sunday, the process will move northward from South First Street and cover several blocks each day, with work taking place in the evening and early morning hours.

The Department advises OC neighbors they may notice slight discoloration in the water. Discoloration is not harmful, according to a press release, and can be cleared by running cold water for several minutes.

Officials plan to complete the project by the afternoon of Oct. 26.

Questions and concerns related to hydrant flushing can be directed to the OC Department of Public Works at (410) 524-8388.
