School bus crash

LAUREL, DE - The Laurel Police Department says they are investigating a collision involving two school buses Tuesday morning.

According to police, the crash was reported just after 7:30 a.m. this morning, October 10th, near W 6th Street and Greene Avenue.

Police say a Laurel High School Bus occupied by 19 students and a Howard T Ennis Bus occupied by an attendant and three special-needs students were involved. Per standard protocol, police say police, fire, and EMS crews were dispatched as preventative measures regardless of whether or not injuries are reported. 

Laurel Police say there were no injuries in Tuesday’s collision and no one required medical services. The crash scene was cleared just before 8:45 a.m., and both buses proceeded on their routes to their destinations. 

Parents and family are asked to cooperate with their school districts’ emergency planning procedures

“We understand this is a stressful experience for the students and parents,” the Laurel Police Department said in a social media post,”but these procedures are in place for this exact situation to ensure the best and safest outcome.”
